LION BASANT KUMAR PANIGRAHI, PDG
First District Governor of our District PDG Lion B.K. Panigrahi is among the senior most Lions from our area. He joined Lions Club of Berhampur as a CharterLION BASANT KUMAR PANIGRAHI, PDG Member in year 1968 and became President for the years 1970-72. He held many key positions in the District and became District Governor in the year 1979-80 of the undivided District of 322.

A veteran and dedicated Lion Panigrahi is a socially known figure of Orissa, besides being famous as an active Lion. Having a brilliant academic career as a lecturer and then Principal of Lingraj Law College, he is a well known advocate of Berhampur. He was President of all Orissa Lawyers Association. and associated with many legal, educational and social institution viz. Chairman of Berhampur Municipality, President Berhampur Co-operative Urban Bank, Vice-President of Berhampur Disaster Relief Committee etc. He is the Vice-President of Viswa Oriya Sammilani and the Founder Secretary of Ganjam Kala Parishad.

Being involved in many sphere of activities he has received a Galaxy of Awards, a few among them are Sarala Sanman 1995. 60 years Oriya Film Award 1996, Niranjan Pattnaik Award 1996. A writer, actor and traveller PDG Lion Basant is happily married to Sarada Devi.

LION GIRIDHARILAL KEDIA, PDG
Lion Giridharilal Kedia was born at Cuttack on 25.08.1936. When only eight years old, he was deprived of his father, whose death came prematurely. Brought upLION GIRIDHARILAL KEDIA, PDG by his loving mother Shyama, he had to interrupt his college education while still in his teens to take over the management of his family and business.

Lion Giridharilal had to act as Karta and bore adversity with fortitude. Trained in life's school of Experience, Giridharilal imbibed in him qualities, which stood him in good stead in the years to follow, when he came to take interest in social and cultural activities.

Lion Kedia took the lead for the club and became a Charter member when the Lions Club of Cuttack was Chartered in the year 1974.

Lion Giridharilal served the club in various capacities. He became the President of the club in the year 1975, Bulletin editor in 1977-78 and Leo adviser in 1978-79. He also served the district as a Zone Chairman in 1976-77, Deputy District Governor in 1977-78 of undivided District 322-B and the Cabinet Secretary of the newly formed Dist. 322-C in 1979-80. In the year, 1980-81 he served as a Dist. Chairman of LCIF and was responsible for organizing a District Level Seminar. He was unanimously elected to serve the District as its first Lt. Governor for 1981-82 and then District Governer in the year 1982-83. He served the Multiple District 322 as Council Treasurer in the year 1982-83 and Council Secretary in 1983-84. He bagged many awards of which any Lion may be proud. They are : 100% President Award, Membership Growth, Extention, Perfect Attendance and the Master Key Award from the Lions International. He has also to his credit, "Lion of the year Award" for 1979-80 from the District.

Apart from Lionism, Lion Kedia is actively associated with many social, cultural and educational institutions. He is in the management of two schools of Cuttack. He was the working President of Kala Vikas Kendra, Cuttack and of Srimad Bhagwat Prachar Samity, Cuttack.
Lion Kedia is happily married to Lioness Draupadi and they are blessed with two sons and three daughters.

Late LION P. K. DAS, PDG
A renowned sportsman, Lion Pratap K. Das joined Lionism in the year 1974 as a Charter Member of Lions Club of Cuttack, and soon became the President in the year 1976-77. He transferred his membership to Lions Club of Bhubaneswar in the year 1977. He served the District as Zone chairman, District Chairman Extension, Leo, LCIF, Environmental Services, , Deputy district Governor, and as District Governor in 1985-86. 

In recognition of his services, he received several Awards, viz., 100% President Award, 100% Zone Chairman award, besides 100% Attendance award continuously for 16 years. 

A successful banker by profession, PDG Lion Das served Andhra Bank and Rushikulya Gramin Bank in various capacities. He was actively associated with several social organizations, and was a well recognized figure at all social service programmes and functions. 

PDG Lion P.K.Das passed away in the year 2004, and is survived by Lioness Tanuja and daughters Pragyan and Pinky.

LION DR. N. C. PADHI, PDG
Lion Dr. Padhi, as he is popularly known hails from an intellectual family of burocrats and academics of Ganjam District. His father Sri R.P. Padhi, was an IASLION DR. N. C. PADHI, PDG officer who retired as the Chief Secretary of Orissa and subsequently became Vice Chancellor of Brahmapur and Rajasthan Universities. He was also the Charter President of the Lions Club of Berhampur. Dr. Padhi became a Lion by default as he had to drive his father to the meetings regularly. He was nurtured in the liberal environment which his father propagated. Hence his adoption of lionism was natural. He held all the offices in his club and district with distinction and was an automatic choice for Governorship in 1987-88, in the undivided district 322C which had nearly 100 clubs covering West Bengal and Orissa.

Besides his own profession of being a teacher of Surgery in the Government Medical Colleges of Orissa, he has a wide range of interest. He is an activist in any programme that he joins. Thus he is a good organizer of professional and social events. He is active in the District Athletic Association and now working President. He has been President of the Indian Medical Association of the entire state as well as President of the Association of Surgeons of India, Orissa State Chapter. He is a life member of Indian Red Cross Society and many other organizations, too many to list here.

He retired from Government Service in 1995 as Professor and Head of Surgery as well as Superintendent of the large SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack. He has now settled at Brahmapur and doing surgical practice. He is happily married with a very active wife Ranjita who does not hesitate to assist him in his activities. His only son is well settled IAS and now a fairly senior officer with the Government. His elder daughter is in USA working as a Neurologist with her family. Her husband is employed by the World Bank. His younger daughter, also a Doctor is settled at Bhubaneswar and employed.

His hobbies are reading, introselling and speaking.

LION DIPAK KUMAR BASU, PMCC
Lion Dipak Kumar Basu hails from a respectable family of village Bahugram, District Cuttack. He is happily married to Lioness Gauri and blessed with twoLION DIPAK KUMAR BASU, PMCC daughters and one son. Son Krishna Pratim was also a Leo and was considered as the Best Leo Camper at the International Leo Youth Exchange Programme at Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh in 1986-87. Younger daughter MunMun was the first President of Leo Club of Cuttack. The son and daughters are well placed in life.

After completing his Masters Degree in History Lion Basu associated himself in various sports, educational and philanthropic activities in which he had a flair from his youth. He represented the State in Tennis and Badminton and left his mark in the National Sports arena. Besides being a successful Businessman, he was instrumental in acquiring land for MELVIN JONES LIONS EYE HOSPITAL at Cuttack which was his dream since he joined the Lions Movement.

He is the Founder Member of Utkal Bangiya Association, Bahugram Co-operative Society, Life member of Mohun Bagan Athletic Club, Kolkata, YMCA. Youth Hostels Association of India and Life Patron of ISKCON. In every sphere of his association, he has left his mark of leadership.

He joined Lionism in the year 1975 as a member of Lions Club of Cuttack and he has not looked back since in serving the suffering humanity. In recognition of his sincere, devoted & love for Lionism he had adorned the post of Club President in the year 1981-82 and was assigned various district level responsibility thereafter that took him to the coveted elected post of District Governor in the year 1989-90, and as Multiple Council Chairman of Multiple District 322 in 1990-91.

The awards, citations & commendations that he has received from District and International is enviable. To mention a few, the best PRO award of undivided District 322 in the year 1977, 2nd best Youth Exchange Chairman in the Lions World in 1988, three International President's medallion in the year 1990,1991 and 1995 apart from the Lion of the year in Club in 1977, Lion of the District in 1982.

Lion Dipak Kumar Basu is a dedicated Lion who believes that through love you can reach the heart of humanity, and by devoted service you can restore peace in the heart and in the world.

 LION SATYANARAYANA SAHU, PDG
An art lover PDG Lion. S.N. Sahu joined Lions Club of Cuttack in the year 1976 & after holding several posts in the club, he became the President in the yearLION SATYANARAYANA SAHU, PDG 1983-84. He has been in the District as Cabinet Treasurer, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman besides being the "District Trainer" after completing the Train the Trainer programme of Multiple District 322.

Devoted to Lionism, Lion. S.N. Sahu has received several Awards at Club, District & International levels, the list of which is never ending. He has received 100% President Award. 100% Perfect-Attendance Award. Senior Master Key, Several Extension, Guiding Lion Awards etc. He was the Founder Secretary of All Orissa Tax Association and later on became the Vice President. He is an art lover and has received the Best Actor Award at Rajendra College, Bolangir.

Profession : Practicing Doctor Since 1969. Running a Nursing home called Ganjam Nursing Home, Park Street, Berhampur.

LION BHUBANESWAR PATNAIK, PDG
Lion Bhubaneswar Patnaik hails from Jatni (Khurda Road), Dist. Khurda. He was elected District Governor (1993 - 94) at the Annual District Conference held atLION BHUBANESWAR PATNAIK, PDG Rayagada in March 1993.

Lion Patnaik had brilliant academic Career. He is a first class topper both in MA and LL.B. He did MBA from New Delhi and MBA (HR) from XLRI, Jamshedpur a top 10 B-School in India. He has enrolled as an Advocate.

Lion Patnaik joined SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant, Rourkela as a Management Trainee and took Voluntary retirement as Chief of Personnel since he was elected as District Governor. He also served Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd (FACOR), Bhadrak as Addl. GM (P&A). He practised as an Advocate in labour and service matters. Thereafter he switched over to construction companies.

Lion Patnaik joined Lions Club of Rourkela, the first and oldest club in Orissa in 1976. He served the club as President in 1981-82, Dist. Chairman, Zone Chairman and Dy. Dist. Governor (now Region Chairman) before elevated to District Governor. He was the first DG from Rourkela, from entire Western Orissa. He was the last DG directly elected and thereafter the post of Vice DG was created which is continuing now.

Lion Patnaik is a MJF, member of Utkalion Foundation and Life remember of Sight First.

Lion Patnaik had many problems and achievements during his Governorship Campaign Sight First was in its 3rd and Final Year to collect 130 million dollars by Lions International. There was Stiff resistance from senior Lion Members not to inaugurate any new clubs but to consolidate the then 64 clubs out of which many were sick. Lion Patnaik had advocated to give chance / opportunity to unrepresented clubs of Western and Central Orissa whether big or small clubs with a view to strengthen the Lions movement in Orissa and not to concentrate in coastal Districts only. He had given 2 all ladies Lions clubs at those preparatory years to encourage the involvement of Lady Lions. He had given 761 Awards to almost all the clubs a record still holding to date to encourage the excellent performance of Lions, Lionesses & Leos both for club activities and individual excellence.

Lion Patnaik made his share of humble contribution for the development and progress of the District 322 C - 2.

 LION DR. PRASANT KUMAR TRIPATHY, PDG
Born at Aska on the February 4th of 1945, completed his early education at Aska. After his college education at Khallikote College Berhampur, Completed hisLION DR. PRASANT KUMAR TRIPATHY, PDG MBBS in 1969 from S.C.B. Medical College, Cuttack. Worked as a senior resident at Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi and P.G. Resident at Prince of Wales Medical College, Patna. Awarded fellowship of college of Chest Physicians of India. Started his own medical practice at Aska in 1971. Joined Lionsm as a charter member of Lions club of Aska in 1981.

Became President 1983-84, Zone chairman 1984-85, District chairman 1985-86, 1986-87, 1988-89, 1989-90, 1990-91, 1991-92, Deputy District Governor 1987-88 and Dist Trainer 1992-93. He was elected as Lt. Governor in 1993 which subsequently was designated as Vice D.G. Became District Governor in 1994-95 and became the Treasurer of Multiple 322 in the same year.

Received 100% President award, Best Zone Chairman, Dy. Dist. Governor & Dist. Chairman award. Recipent of 100% Dist. Governor award and 3 times International Presidents appreciation award, Best Guiding Lion award, Life member Utkalion Foundation Trust, Melvin Jones fellow.

He is the past president of I.M.A. Aska Branch, Life member of I.M.A. & I.M.A. College of General Practioners. Life member of Indian Red Cross Society, Member of Governing Body of many educational institution in & around Aska. President of Krishna Chandra Memorial Trust a charitable organisation which provides one time meal daily to 20 poor & physically handicaped persons. This trust also runs an eye care centre which operates cataract (10 L) freely to 20 poor patients every month.

Married to Lion Lady Bijayalakshmi blessed with 3 daughters Shibani, Swarupa, Subhadra & 3 grand children.

Late LION ARJUN AGARWAL, PDG
A leading Advocate of Cuttack, PDG Ln.Agarwal joined Lion Club of Cuttack in 1977 and became President in 1988-89 after holding the post of Sectary, Vice President and different committee chairman. In the District also he was in the cabinet since 1990-91 and became District governor in the year 1995-96. A celebrated personality PDG Ln. Arjun Agarwal was awarded several times for his services to Lionism from district as well as from Lions International. He received Best District Governor, Lion of the year, International President appreciation awarde and medallion for leadership. Ln. Agarwal was associated with many educational and professional Institutions. He was the Chairman of Orissa state Bar Association. He was in governing bodies of Utkal University Hindi Vidhalaya, Ravenshaw College and M.S Law College. He voluntarily donated blood for more than 40 times. A renowed social worker, Ln. Arjun agarwal passed away in 2004, and is survived by Geeta Devi, four sons and one daughter.

LION MAHESH KUMAR TIBREWAL, PDG
A member of the renowned Tibarewal family of Jagatpur, PDG Lion Mahesh Tibarewal joined lionism as a member of Lions Club of Cuttack in the year 1981, later in 1986 he formed his present home club, Lions Club of Cuttack Silver City & became President in 1989-90. After becoming Zone Chairman, Region Chairman, District Chairman at District level he was elected as District Governor in the year 1996-97. He is the recipient of many district and International Awards including 100% President Award. He has attened many District Conferences, Multiple Conventions, Africa & South West Asia Forums at Dhaka and Mumbai and 79th International Convention.

Lion Tibariwal is attached with many social and educaitonal institutions viz. YMCA, All India Tennis Association, Indian Red Cross Society etc.

PDG Lion M.K. Tibarewal is happily married to Lioness Sudha and are blessed with one daughter and one son.

LION BIRENDRA NATH PATTNAIK, PMCC
Lion Birendra Nath Pattnaik was born on 27th June, 1958 at Howrah, West Bengal. He did his schooling from D.M. school, Bhubaneswar and graduation fromLION BIRENDRA NATH PATTNAIK, PMCC B.J.B. College, Bhubaneswar. He joined his parental business at Howrah in 1979 but his love for his home state brought him to Rourkela in 1981. He started his own business at Rourkela and had the opportunity of leading the Rourkela Chamber of Commerce & Industry as it's youngest President during 1993-1994.

Lion R.K. Das sponsored him as a member of Lions club of Rourkel-Vedvyas in 1986. He had the opportunity of holding various posts in the club and was the President during 1991-1992. He had the distinction of making Lions club of Rourkela-Vedvays the largest club of the district. He left Lions club of Rourkela-Vedvyas and joined Lions club of Rourkela-Chhend in 2003.

Lion Birendra held various posts in the district before being elected for the post of Vice-District Governor in 1996 at Cuttack District Conference. He was elected to the post of District Governor at Balasore in 1997 and was elected as the Multiple Council Chairman at Gauhati (Assam) in 1998.

Lion Birendra was awarded at Club, District, Multiple & International level several times. The most noteworthy being International President's Award in 1998. He was the first lion of District 322 C2 being awarded the second highest award of the Lions Clubs International. He was adjudged Five Star District Governor by the International. Apart From this he was awarded Lion of the year award at Club & District level twice. He was also awarded best President, best Zone Chairman, best Region Chairman, etc. in different years at the District level.

He is also associated with various Social, Business and Political Organisations and has served at different positions with distinction. He is 
married to Aliva and proud father of a son Sambit who is an engineer studying M-Tech. in IIT and a daughter Sweta studying in class X.

LION DEBENDRA KUMAR LATH, PDG
Lion D.K. Lath joined Lionism in 1976 as a Member of Lions Club of Sambalpur and became Secretary of the Club in the year 1981-82 and President in the yearLION DEBENDRA KUMAR LATH, PDG 1984-85. He was nominated to District Cabinet as District Chairman, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman and became Vice District Governor in the year 1997-98 and subsequently District Governor in the 1998-99 and then he was Multiple Cabinet Secretary for the year 1999-2000. As District Governor he has also generated a lot of enthusiasm with the Lions Movement which helped in no small way to galvanize Clubs in the District into action.

Lion D.K. Lath equally involved in other social organisation such Sivananda Homeopathic Institution, Executive Director of K.D. Jalan Seva Sadan, Member of Devine Life Society and Red Cross and many other voluntary organisations, where his services has been recognised Lion D.K. Lath is happily married to Lion Asha and is blessed with one son and two daughter.

LION GOVIND AGARWAL, PDG
Born on the 29th of January 1985 at Kantabanji, Lion Govind hails from Patnagarh in the District of Bolangir. He graduated in LAW from the Lala Lajpat Rai LawLION GOVIND AGARWAL, PDG College, Sambalpur in the year 1982.

Apart from legal practice Lion Govind looks after his family business i.e. Rice mill, petrolpump, transport, fertiliser, lodging.
He is a member of the governing body Govt. Girls High School, Advisor to Sramik Pathagar. President Merchant Association, Aryasamaj, Member of Marwari Panchayat Samiti, District Blind Control Society, Orissa Cancer Society, Indian Redcross Society and Agrasen Seva Sangh.

Lion Govind has widely travelled in India and abroad. His hobbies are stamp collection and match box warpper collection. He has already collected about 4000 match box warpper.

With the above background Lion Govind Agrawal, joined Lionism as a Charter Member of Lions Club of Patnagarh in the year 1980. He was President of club during the year 1985-86.

He has received Dist Governor's Appreciation Certificate consecutively for 4 years from 1989-90, to 1992-93. Best Dist. Chairman award 1994-95. 100% President award, 4 extension award, 3 guiding lion awards, Senior Master key award, 19 years continuous membership award, Internaitonal Presidents Certificate of Appreciation for Campaign Sight First and International President Certificate of appreciation 
1997-98.

Lion Govind has also attended the Internatinoal Convention at MIAMI (USA) in the year 1989, Where the pride of India, Past International President Lion Rohit C Mehta was elected as 3rd V.P. and also at San Diego, California, USA in 1999 where in he was installed as District Governor.

Lion Govind is the worthy son of Sri Harichand Agarwal a reputed businessman and social worker. He is happily married to Mamta and is blessed with a daughter Parul and two sons Ankur and Madhur.

LION PRAFULLA KUMAR SAHOO, MJF, PDG
Lion Prafulla Kumar Sahoo was born in a Zamindar family near Konark. After his early education at Puri, he graduated in Commerce from Calcutta University.LION PRAFULLA KUMAR SAHOO, MJF, PDG

He joined General Insurance and rose to the rank of Branch Manager. But his flair for journalism and his long association with Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab provided him the opportunity to join Prajatantra Prachar Samity. He became General Manager - Trustee and after serving the institution for nearly 33 years, he took voluntary retirement in 2000.

Lion Sahoo joined Lionism as a member of Lions Club of Cuttack in the year 1977 and became the Preseident in the year 1991-92. He went up the ladder and was elected as Vice District Governor in 1999-2000 and became District Governor in 2000-2001. It was during his tenure as the District Governor that the International President Lion Jean Behar alongwith Immediate Past International President Lion Jim Ervin and 1st Vice President Lion Frank Moore visited our district for the first time in the history of our District. Hosts lion dignitaries like Lion Ashok Mehta (at Present Immediate Past International President and Chairman LCIF), PID Lion M.L. Tulsian, PID Lion G.Ramaswamy, PID Lion Naresh Agarwal, PID Lion M. Nagarajan, PID Lion K.M. Goel and PID Lion Prem Lahoty also visited our District during the period. The first phase major catastrophe grant of Orissa Super Cyclone rehabilitation was utilised in a record time to the satisfaction of Lions International. In appreciation of his sevices, Lions International recognised him as 100% District Governor. Although serving humanity is a passion for Lion Sahoo, he is associated with many other organisations. He is President of Lions Damodar Girls High School - Konark, Life Member - Kala Vikas Kendra, Utkal Sahitya Samaj, Director - Ajay Binoy Institute of Technology, Trustee- Melvin Jones Lions Eye Hospital and many cultural and philanthropic organisations.

He is happily married to Lioness Prativa and is blessed with two sons and one daughter all settled in life.

"Kindle the Spark Within" the slogan of our Lion Leader Nikunj Chhotray District Governor, Dist 322 C2 for the Lionistic Year 2001-02. He has realized thatLION NIKUNJ CHHOTRAY, MJF, PDG every individual has within him a spark of the divine. Born in highly cultured Zamindar family of late Bipin Bihari Chhotray in Khurda District. After his education he switched over to business with a desire to serve the community. Joined Lionism in the year of 1987. Club President 89-90 and Dist. Governor 2001-02. He has received 100% Presidentship Award / Best Z.C. / Best Camp Commandant / Best R.C. / and recipient of International President Appreciation Certificate and continuously 4 times the International Presidents Leadership Medal.

A departure from a common business man. He is the Architect of Small Scale Industries in the state. He was the President of Orissa Small Scale Industries Association for more than 10 years. Vice President Fedaration of Associations of Small Scale Industries of India and Member of Plant Lovers Association, Music Circle, Red Cross, Chinmay Mission and Divine Life and so many social and Cultural Organisation. Happily Married to Lion Dr. Anjali Chhotray a senior Doctor known in the state and Chartered President of Lady Lions Club in the name of Lions Club of Bhubaneswar Lotus. Blessed with one son Dr. Pritam and two daughters Barsha and Shweta both are Computer Engineers.

LION SURESH CHANDRA MOHAPATRA, MJF, PMCC
Lion Suresh Ch. Mohapatra is such a person who does things uniquely in his own vivid manner, which makes him different from others. This philanthropy of his and his desire to serve the mankind has given him the strength and helped him in this tough task of removing the social stigma of poverty and penury.

This has conferred him with the highest honour of the Lions International i.e. 'Ambassador of Good Will', which was solely bestowed to him in the Dist. 322. His enthralling attitude siphoned him higher and higher and gave him the honour of the 2nd Best District Governor in the World. This award was accorded to him for impelling people towards service to mankind.

His resplendent traverse of lionism since 1993 saw a milestone in the year 2002-03, when he was elected as the District Governor and also adjudged as excellent Governor.

He is again consigned as the Multiple District Council Chairman and is highly appreciated for providing 12 numbers of Ambulances and for laying down the infrastructure for 10 numbers of Lions Eye Hospitals.

His chrysalis encloses some of the most embellishing moments of his journey in lionism which encludes him as a best President, out standing Zone and Region Chairman for his excellent performance in this field of service.

His glorious journey itself recognizes this lion in district 322 C2 i.e. state of Orissa for outstanding performance in extension, membership and signature project & enrolling 9 MJFs in the lion's history.

LION PRAVAT MOHANTY, MJF, PDG
Lion Pravat Mohanty was born on 3rd November 1955 in Dhenkanal. After completion of Degree in Law, he established his own Industry in 1981. Lion Mohanty is founder of Lions Club Dhenkanal which took birth on 20th May 1981. He joined the club as a Charter Member and became the Secretary during 1981-82 and President in 1998-99. Thereafter he has held many important posts in the District as Zonal Co-ordinator, Zonal Membership Adviser, Zone Chairman, Region Chairman, District Chairman Leo, Vice District Governor in 2002 - 2003, District Governor in 2003-04. He became the Council Vice-Chairperson of Multiple District 322 in 2004-05.

Since the date of joining, Lion Mohanty have proved his leadership quality and his organizational capacity both in club and District level. Lion Mohanty's glorious journey speaks voulumes of his dedication and sacrifice for the cause of Lionism. His outstanding contribution for the growth of Lionism has been suitably rewarded and some of them are 2nos. of International President's Medal, 1no. of International President's Leadership Medal, Melvin Jones Fellow, 50 Member Key Award, 4nos. of Extension Award, 7nos. of International President's Appreciation Certificate, Guiding Lion Award, Legacy of Lions Award, Club President's Excellence Award, 20 years Charter Chevron Award, 20 year Perfect Attendance Award, Membership. Lion Mohanty has been closely associated with numerous broadbased institutional activities which includes The Art of Living, Community Polytechnic, Dhenkanal Blood Bank, Utkal Sammilani, Dhenkanal Evening College, District Blindness Control Society, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Vidya Mandir, Chamber of Commerece & Industries, Youth Hostel Association of India, Utkalion Foundation Trust and the famous Cultural Association 'Silpi'.

Lion Mohanty married to Sujata on 8th February 1987, who was instrumental in setting up the Dhenkanal Lioness Club. As its President she was adjudged as the Best President of the District. They are blessed with two daughters Nicky and Lichi, students of +2 and Std. IX respectively.

LION G. VASUDEVAN NAIR, PDG
Ln. G. Vasudevan hails from the southern state of India having completed his Graduation in science from Kerala University in 1966. He had undergohe extensiveLION G. VASUDEVAN NAIR, PDG training at Kolkata in Management and Business affairs.

He had a brief period of service at Kolkata but his Independent nature with vision helped immensely to choose the business line. He started his business in 1972 and migrated to Rourekela in 1975 and since then continuing the business profession.

He started his peregrination to the social front by joining Lions Club of Rourkela, the first and the oldest Club of Orissa in 1990, and became tail twister in 1995, 3rd VP in 1996, 2nd VP in 1997, and President in 1998, Zone Chairman in 1999, Region Chairman in 2000 and Cabinate Co-ordinator in 2001 and 2002. He was also the DG,s News letter editor in 2002. He was elected to the post of Vice-District Governor in April 2003 & subsequently District Gover in 2004.

His visionary approach and down to earth personality has adorned him with numerous awards at the club level, District level and International level. The best President award the appreciation award for Zone Chairman and best Region Chairman are some of the awards he received from the District. He has recognition of quality services rendered by him in 1999 - 2000,2000-20001 and 2001-2002. In the year 2001 he was the only person who received the International President's leadership Medal in the District 322 C2 at the Multiple conference held in Jamshedpur.

He was also awarded the grand membership growth award in 1998 - 1999 during his presidentship. The best bulletin Editor award was also given to him for 2 consecutive years.
A true Lion in real lionistic spirits he is also involved in many other activities. He is a life member of Rourkela Chamber of commerce, ISCON. Naturopathice Centre, Life member of Rourkela Club, adviser to Netaji Yuba Parishad Tainsar, and also the connected with many other Organisations.

A personality with true vision and above all a true Indian, he is married to Lion Lady Kum Kum from West Bengal and blessed with one daughter and one son. His Daughter Reshmi has done her Post graduation in Electronics Engineering from USA and is presently working in California. She is married to Shrikant Reddy from Hyderabad, His son Shankar is also an Electronics Engineer and after a successful four year service with Hewlett Packard has joined the family business. He is married to Piyush who hails from Maharashtra.

A true soul, a true lion, a versatile personality, dedicated to the cause of lionism is relentlessly continuing the journey of service and contributing immensely to Community development.

LION JASBIR SINGH HURA, MJF
Lion Jasbir Singh Hura, MJF was born on 16th October, 1955 at Sambalpur, Orissa. He has done his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya and graduated in B.Com (Hons.) from G.M. College, Sambalpur.

He Joined Lion movement as a Leo in the year 1975 since then he has held many important portfolios. His Lionistic journey as a promising leader started in the year 1995-96 as Lions Secretary, Lions Club of Sambalpur, President in the year 1999-2000, Zone Chairman in the year 2000-01, Region Chairman in the year 2001-02 and was elected for the post of Vice District Governor in the year 2004-05 & subsequently District Governor in the year 2005-06. He created a history by being elected unopposed for the first time in the history of District 322C2.
He has received numerous District and International awards for displaying exemplary leadership skills. He was bestowed with Legacy of Lion Award, Best Zone Chairman Award, Best region Chairman Award, 4 New Lion Club Extension Award, New Horizon Leader Award (2003-04), Best International President Leadership Medal thrice for the year 2003-04, 2004-05 & 2005-06. He was presented the International President Leadership Medal in the year 2005-06 for 2nd Best District governor in India for membership growth.
He has been very sincere and has mastered the art of perfection. His role as Chairman of District Conference at Sambalpur is still quoted as the best. His innovative idea of holding Cabinet meeting at Bangkok and then Kualalampore was highly appreciated.
Being a true Lion Leader he has been involved with many social organizations displaying the true spirit of Lions motto of WE SERVE. He has became the school captain of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sambalpur. In the year 1979, he helped in the foundation of Sambalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industries as founder Secretary and is Founder Chairman of Kosal Vyavasayee Sangha.
He acts as advisor to Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee, Life Member of Red Cross Society, 4 times DRUCC Member and 3 times as member of Zonal Railway Users Consultative Committee and many others.
Lion Hura is a successful business man and is promoter for Harjit Group of prestigious retail Showroom, Managing Director of Hotel Sheela Tower (P) Ltd., C&F Agent for Amway India Enterprises, Franchisee for Carrier Point Info Systems of Kota, Rajasthan and Authorised Dealer of Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India at Sambalpur.
Lion Jasbir is Happily married to Lion Jaspal Kaur and has two son Shamsher and Risihipal and a daughter Neha.

LION SUSHIL KUMAR SANTUKA, MJF
Lion Sushil Kumar Santuka, MJF was born on 28th January 1960 in a modest family in Cuttack and is a Leo by birth. His Sun Sign is not just to mention but he has also displayed the dominance as a Leo in Academics as well as sport. He completed his schooling fro Marwari High School, Cuttack and completed his Master’s Degree in Commerce as a Topper fro Utkal University (Ravenshaw College). Adding to his glory is the Singles and Doubles Championship title for the state of Orissa in Lawn Tennis, retained by him for several year.

He joined Lionsim as a Leo in 1977 and as a Lion Member of Lions Club of Cuttack in 1985. After being Greeters Committee Chairma, Tamer, Tail twister, Treasurer, Joint Secretary, Secretary, President in the year 1997-98 and elected as District Governor 2006-07. During his Presidency thinking about his visually handicaps, he had an exceptional vision in the form of “Melvin Jones Lions Eye Hospital”, Cuttack. He bagged the Best President Award of the District, 100% president Award, 5 Star status of the International President for his club, Best Zone Chairman (1998-99), Best District Chairman 2000-01 & 2001-02. He also has received 3 International President’s Appreciation Medal for 2004-05 & 2005-06.

As a Professional, Lion Sushil Santuka is a well settled and successful Businessman in Logistic Management. He is also associated with various Social and cultural Organisation like Marwari Yuva Manch, Osho International Foundation, ISCKON, etc.
Lion Sushil is married to Lion Nina Santuka, as active Lion and past Lioness President. She was adjudged the Best lioness President in 1999-2000 and as a Chairman Peace poster Contest, whose Peace Poster was selected at International Display. The happy couple is blessed with a daughter Shradha and son Aakash.
