Lion Prabhat Palit, MJF born on 24th December, 1944 , is a Mechanial Engineer. Her served for sixteen years in different construction projects of India i.e. Bokaro,, Banglore, Burnpur and Durgapur. In the years 1985 he became an Enterpreneur and established his Small Scale Industry. Now, he runs successfully his construction Company with a Multinational customer, base from Nalconagar, Orissa, India.
Lion Palit became Club President of his home club Angul in 1997. Since 1998 Lion Palit has held important position in the district cabinet including the post of Cabinet treasurer and District Chairperson Extension. He is the Project chairperson of SIGHTFIRST Project SF947 and was instrumental in establishing Angul Lions Eye Hospital “ALOK”.
He has attended two senior leader conventions at Birmingham and one area forum at Tunisia. He has toured extensively Europe and Asia.
His participation in Lions Senior Leader’s Institutes, International exposure both at professional and Lion’s platforms and skill level in Information Technology has thoroughly prepared him to implement the sweeping structural changes in the organization which Lions International intend to bring in for making the organization vibrant.
Apart from much recognition at club and district level including Best District Chairman, he has received 100% President’s awards and three International President’s Appreciation Certificates.
Lion Palit is a member of Institution of Engineers, India. He is a member of Orissa Productivity Council. He is Angul District President of Orissa Association of Small and Medium Industries. He is also Advisor to Angul Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Spouse Lioness Kalpana is actively associated in club and district activities and was a District Chairperson in 2003-04. Eledst son Partha is a Computer Engineer and work at New York. Secon son Kaushik is a management student at Banglore.
